Bentley Sport Cars Bentley Silver Wings Concept

The British carmaker Bentley, owned by Volkswagen Group had displayed a W16 powered super sports cars at the Geneva Motor show. The project was conceived as a virtual mid-engined successor to the 1999 Hunaudieres Concept. The front end of this vehicle features an aggressive front splitter and air intake set up to emulate the F22 Jet and is characterized by the trademark Bentley domed grill and twin circular headlights.
The Bentley Silver Wings Concept also features a raised beltline and diminishing character lines that help define the supercar embodiment of this concept and elongate the rear-end of this vehicle. This really is the Bentley of supercars...
Dubbed the Bentley Sport Cars Bentley Silver Wings Concept, the concept is inspired by the brand’s racing heritage as well as the F22 Raptor jet fighter. Bentley Silver Wings Concept is the usual hodgepodge of design elements from Aston Martin, Zonda, Saleen and Bentley of course, but it still has a certain charm about it.

The Silver Wing concept car uses a harmonious mix between mid-engine layout and aggressive design cues. The front end uses an aggressive layout built around Bentley’s characteristic domed grille and headlights that draw inspiration from the company’s current design language. The exterior also includes large rear air intakes for the rear brakes, and the 20" or 21" alloy wheels.
Shawn Wood and Guohua Cheng are two industrial designers recently graduated from the Industrial Design course at Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts (TAFA), China. They are two college kids from China have come up with something that will blow your mind completely. The W16 display car, which was a concept called the Hunaudières had a cab-forward design with sleek looks and was done up in British Racing Green. The concept cars had more chrome than Ludacris’ Escalade.

Bentley Arnage Final Series

Bentley Arnage Final Series

Since its debut in 1998 the Bentley Arnage has conveyed an air of sophisticated understatement as the four-door flagship of the Bentley range. Over the last decade the car has undergone a process of constant refinement to its body, design, chassis and power train to maintain its class-leading position in the high luxury market.

To celebrate 10 years of the Arnage, 50 years of its mighty V8 engine and 90 years of the marque, Bentley Motors will launch its limited edition model at the 2008 Paris Motor Show.

Called the Bentley Arnage Final Series, the new model features a unique specification, combining the performance of the 500 bhp Bentley Arnage T with the refinement of the Bentley Arnage R and design elements from the Bentley Brooklands coupe, for the ultimate expression of British luxury and effortless power in a four-door saloon - a grand finale, for the grandest of Bentleys.

EFFORTLESS PERFORMANCE FROM CREWE'S MIGHTY V8
The engine, transmission, chassis and running gear of the Bentley Arnage Final Series are identical to those previously employed in Arnage T. In this specification, Bentley's remarkable all-aluminium 6 ¾ litre V8 engine produces 500 bhp (507PS/373kW) and 1000 Nm (738lb ft) of torque - figures that ensure that the legendary Bentley 'wave of torque' delivers effortless performance for a unique driving experience.

Acceleration to 60 mph is accomplished in 5.2 seconds (0-100km/h in 5.5 secs) with 100 mph reached in 12.1 seconds (0-160km/h in 12.0 seconds). Top speed of the Bentley Arnage Final Series is 179 mph / 288 km/h. Each V8 engine bears the signature of the team leader who oversaw its hand-built construction in the Crewe factory.

The six-speed ZF automatic transmission, first introduced for the 2007 model, ensures optimum flexibility, response and refinement. Three transmission modes (Drive, Sport and Semi-Automatic) allow the driver to take full advantage of the powerful 500 bhp V8 engine.

2010 New Bentley Mulsanne Luxurious Sports Car The 8-litre̢۪s Debut at Pebble Beach Concours D̢۪Elegance, California

2010 New Bentley Mulsanne Luxurious Sports Car

2010 Bentley Motors
unveiled the Mulsanne, the company̢۪s all-new flagship grand tourer, at the prestigious Pebble Beach Concours D̢۪Elegance in Monterey, California. The Mulsanne is inspired by the company founder W.O. Bentley̢۪s crowning achievement in 1930, the 8-litre. And it was W.O.̢۪s own sensitively conserved company car that shared the podium with the new Mulsanne in Pebble Beach. This early motoring masterpiece represented the last big Bentley that was designed, engineered and built from the ground up by Bentley engineers - until now.

Nearly 80 years later, while paying respect to this illustrious past, the new Mulsanne is a thoroughly modern statement of luxury driving and grand touring. Conceived, styled and engineered entirely at Bentley̢۪s headquarters in Crewe, England, the Mulsanne, with its completely new and unique platform, goes into production next year in a new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility within the Crewe factory. The Bentley design team, lead by Dirk van Braeckel, have created a flagship that offers the classic sporting, styling cues long-associated with Bentley - expressed in a thoroughly contemporary way.

The return of the Mulsanne name to a car carrying Bentley’s iconic ‘Winged B’ emblem underlines the company’s racing pedigree and nowhere reflects that heritage better than the famed Le Mans circuit, the scene of no fewer than six Bentley triumphs. Few places offer a stronger or more emotive connection with the Bentley marque than the famed Mulsanne corner.
The Bentley 8-litre displayed alongside the Mulsanne in California was first shown at the 1930 London Motor Show.

It was the second-built and was W.O. Bentley̢۪s company car for two years. Capable of reaching more than 100 mph, the 8-litre demonstrated W.O. Bentley̢۪s ambition and ability to build a grand luxury car capable of surpassing every other leading manufacturer of the day. A total of 100 cars were built in 1930 and 1931.

â€Å“The 8-litre’s breathtaking performance and quality was perhaps the finest example of a ‘pure’ grand Bentley. Every mechanical detail carried W.O. Bentley’s unique stamp and it was the clearest demonstration of a car built without compromise,” commented Dr. Ulrich Eichhorn, Member of the Board Engineering. â€Å“The Mulsanne has been designed with exactly the same guiding principles, so it is entirely fitting that these Bentleys from different eras share the same stage.”

The Bentley Mulsanne will go on sale from mid 2010. It will also be displayed at the forthcoming IAA Frankfurt Motor Show (15-27th September, 2009) where Bentley Motors will provide additional product information.

Hooper Bentley Empress II.... defining depreciation

Advertised for £350,000.00 in 1991. In todays money, according to http://www.measuringworth.com/ukcompare/result.php?use%5B%5D=CPI&use%5B%5D=DEFIND&use%5B%5D=WAGE&use%5B%5D=GDPCP&use%5B%5D=GDPC&year_late=1991&typeamount=350000&amount=350000&year_source=1991&year_result=2006 was worth £771,303.41 in 2006 ... about what they were asking for a Bugatti Veyron. Yeah, the million US dollar car. So why is it remarkable that it cost equivalent to a Veyron? I just found one up to sell at $85 thousand. 1/10th the original asking price.
